Is the sentence "You sound it" correct? Like if someone were to be called slow and they replied "I'm not slow." Would "You sound it" be a correct response? I would be "You sound like it" correct? Or is "You sound it" a simple shortening which is still correct? Thanks

"you sound like it"

or

"sounds like it"

is correct

 

BUT

someone can't "sound" slow (unless they are doing something that specifically creates noise, and you judge their speed based on that)

so usually people say "looks" rather than "sounds"
