Possible ? Yes, Recommendet? No.

You cant cool it inside a Laptop and it will overheat and die.

It won't die. Thermal throttling is a thing, you know.  :P

Yup, and 4.71 % of all Steam users aren't using Intel HD 4000 graphics, right?

definitely not reccomended. it'll be a lot of work, assuming you can get a BIOS to work with it. since i've never seen an overclocking option in a standard laptop BIOS!

anyway, the gain you would be seeing (if you want it to be stable) would be like a few Mhz tops.

just not worth the effort, really.

You should stay away from OC onboard graphics, especially if it's on a laptop. The best solution is to hope for a driver update.

you can do that bios, but careful. It can result in overheating if you push clocks too much.

Well on desktop, yes, somewhat, but good luck with that on a laptop BIOS.

Thanks guys. I'm just going to pay for him to get a computer, he has never owned a real desktop so I feel obligated to make him one.

Try getting a cheap 2nd hand card - 70$ should get him a 7950(R9 280) and that's still a beastly card for most games :)

At best OCing you might get 5-10% better FPS so it should be playable without OCing

If its not. OCing wont help so tell him to get a new PC / Laptop :D

*cringes* If the game is already unplayable then you probably won't be able to get it playable. Plus, you have to really watch temps on a laptop.
