You should see quite a big performance increase. Now you just need a better GPU ;)

ok, thanks. To get a better idea of what gpu i should get, these are the games i mostly play:

  • spin tires
  • nfs: the run
  • gta 5
  • grid auto sport
  • alien isolation
  • sims 4
  • trine 2
  • dirt: rally
  • tdu2
  • nfs: mw(2005)
  • bf3
  • project cars
  • mad max

i'm thinking about somthing along the lines of a r9 390 saphirre nitro or a zotac gtx 970 amp! omega.

With that game list the 970 amp would work, around high settings depending on what monitor you are running. You could also look at z97 platform to save some money, it doesnt have that much tangible benefits over the 4th gen

My Rig: i7 5820k @ 4.5GHz / Asus ROG r9 390X / Gigabyte x99 Gaming 5P / 32GB DDR4 PNY Anarchy / 256gb m.2 / 2x 120gb SSD Raid 0 / 6TB seagate / Dual Dell 23" IPS / Logitech Orion Spark / Steelseries Rival / AKG 553 Massdrop Edition

Well you could just do the 771 mod overclock it (X5450/X5460) to ~4ghz (easy) and get near i5-2500k performance. That's like £25 of upgrade or less.

But we wont see any new Intel platform or AMD platform for a little while so if you are wanting to upgrade I'd do it now

R9 390 is waaaay overkill for any of those - the R9 380 will probably run them high-max @ 60 fps

EDIT your current 270X should actually handle any of those games fine at medium 60fps - your CPU is a bottleneck currently probably.

What stepping is the better one,  SLANQ or SLBBM?

SLBBM I believe without looking. If you check CPU world you want the one that matches the E0 stepping (And not C0/C1).
