Graphics card running a tad warm!

Hey guys! First post from a friendly lurker here!

I've been having an issue with my graphics card lately, here's the story:

Got my Strix 970 a few months back, I know it idles a bit warm with the fans off all the time. Have never had my temps above 60, unless benchmarking. Recently my PSU died, Corsair AX 750, and I had to RMA it. Corsair was great about it! xD So I had to swap to a Corsair CX 750m while waiting for my AX 750 to come back. I received my new AX 750 the other day and set everything up and seemed to be working fine. I was playing Left 4 dead 2 when I noticed my graphics card was getting wayy to hot. Temps about 80C. My fans were running playing Left 4 dead 2, like 3 small mods installed. I have never heard my graphics card fans turn on unless I was benchmarking. Currently Idling at 50-53C =(

EDIT: I use to idle around 30-35C


Specs:
Processor: I7-4790k
Graphics Card: Asus GTX 970 Strix
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A
Ram: PNY XLR8 (2 x 8gb)
Power Supply: Corsair AX 750

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit

BIOS: UEFI version 0501

asus strix cards generally trade off cooling for silence

Yeah, was going for a more silent pc build. I'll edit this into the original post but it use to idle around 30-35C, not 50C.

Change the fan curve so it comes on earlier

Just keeping this here as a Change the fan curve so it comes on earlier 

I did this once I realized that it started running much warmer than normal. Before my fan kicked on once it reached 60C, and I very seldom heard it on.

I did this once I realized that it started running much warmer than normal. Before my fan kicked on once it reached 60C, and I very seldom heard it on.

 

 

you need to either dust it or you need to replace the thermal paste on the dye

Remove and reattach the cooling assembly, saw this on some amazon reviews.

Normal STRIX cards wouldn't run near the 60's c at idle.

 

Make sure to change the thermal paste when you remove and reattach, keep the pads in place and try not to ruin them.

I'll make sure it's all clean now, shouldnt be too bad with how new it is though.

Just RMA since the idle was 30 before and now it's nearly double
