*straw poll* Computer Case Sizes

FAIL_bro777

Hey guys, I'm doing a Design Tech project in which I'm designing a computer case (keep an eye on the build logs section for my name), and for my research I need to know what the most popular case size is among "power users" of a PC (power user meaning gamers, editors, animators, 3D modellers, etc).

I'm sure you're all familiar with Straw Poll so It'll only take a few seconds, it will be much appreciated, Thanks

EVEN IF YOU ARE JUST DROPPING IN TO SEE WHAT THIS IS PLEASE JUST LEAVE A VOTE, ONLY TAKES 3 SECONDS! :)

~FAIL

http://strawpoll.me/5544095

PS:  Mods, it would be a MASSIVE help if you could pin this for like 24 hours or so just so I can get a nice large selection of people, Thanks  :)

(Also please spread this around (without spamming), need a lot of votes for a proper overview of what people use, Thanks )

NOTE: This is a repost from the "cases and power supplies" thread, if this violates community rules I understand it's removal, however I REALLY need about 100 votes, hopefully more so please help me out a bit, Thanks :)

A good profile picture would help to gather at least couple more votes.

Ehhhh I would but i'm actually at school (this is literally the only forum site not blocked xD ) So not any decent images available

what about itx you sausage

ITX is just a tad smaller than Micro ATX, so just for for nearest comparable board (for mini ITX vote Micro ATX) thanks :)

OP. To get notifications on non-reply comment's you need to follow your topic. This forum also has a built-in polling system. And what boggles me the most, the poll has no ITX options at all. It'll lead to "smaller than flex ATX" being overrepresented, I think. At least Mini-ITX should be an option.

Mate... mini-itx is way smaller than micro atx. its the difference between having ~29cm^2 and ~58cm^2 (almost twice as big!) :(

I'm using straw poll because then i can link examiners to the poll without them having to go to a forum (which could lead to some kind of bias or whatever) Also it's just nicer to screenshot.

As it goes, not many people have voted for "smaller than Flex ATX" so I don't really see the issue. While i appreciate Mini ITX is a popular board, looking at the results it wouldn't really matter which gets attributed the votes.

I am aware, It was just easier to use ATX as a standard with things being compared to it due to size of the poll (had I included every single mother board size out there the poll would be pages long) and ease of choice for voters.

ATX mid tower x2, and mITX build coming. Hard to pick two options with only one choice usable.. This poll would have been better off using the forum polling system tbh.

Eh its no problem either way tbh, I have more than an adequate conclusion from the results (clearly mid towers are the most popular) so one vote doesnt really matter too much :)

Take that with a grain of salt, mITX is growing quickly as a commonplace form factor. Lots of people are going small for many reasons. Personally, I'm doing so because college dorms are small, and bigger computers are more of a pain in the ass to haul around for LAN parties. Not to mention the bragging rights that, "sure, mine may be smaller, but it's all in how you use it." ;)

That's considered a mid-ATX if anything... Though technically its a cube-ATX. I'm about to be buying one for a secondary rig.

Full-ATX = full tower accomodating full length ATX

Mid-ATX = mid tower accomodating full length ATX

Cube-ATX = cube form factor accommodating full length ATX

EDIT: Added a few things I forgot, accidentally hit submit as I was proofreading. Gotta love mobile.

Full ATX can actually accommodate anything up to a full EATX (larger, some having 8 RAM slots rather than 4, and some boards have dual CPU support, heres one that supports 4 CPUS: http://www.theinquirer.net/img/6509/tyan_4980_quad_opteron.jpg?1241332079)

Mid ATX can only go up to standard ATX.

Im not sure about cube ATX, but in a quick look the majority seem to only accommodate mATX, though i wouldnt be too shocked if there are ones out there that can support anything up to EATX

Oh, I know what form factors mix and match with what cases. I was just saying that when you say "full ATX" that translates to ATX board in a full tower case to a majority of the community (enthusiasts as a whole). Mid ATX being mid towrr ATX build, cube ATX being an ATX build in a cube case. Trust me when I say I know my fair share about the dimensions and motherboard and case form factors.
