Pentium 1150 Cpu for File Server

I'm looking at getting a pentium cpu for a file server. Already have the motherboard and ram (upgraded board and ram this week) and am considering keeping what I have rather than sell it and using it for a file server. Will a cheap pentium cpu work ok for something like that, or am I better off just selling what I have left? Also, linux or windows for the OS? Thanks!

I've used a 1155 celeron for gaming before, so using a pentium would probably be no problem at all.
