Oh, I forgot, I have a PSU 750 and a R9 390 :P I guess I removed them from the list when I bought them :P

Get the PSU in the build I suggested above. The Thermaltake 750W is a deathwish.

My friend has been using the same PSU for 2 years, no issues... so it looks good to me.

I've used one - it was ugly. Trust me - TT are VERY low quality.

For a R9 390?   It's 750w

Minimum Power Supply Requirement : 750 watt

Listen to people who know a lot more about this :)

The R9 390 and 4690K @ stock will draw about 350 - 400W - post OC of the CPU about 450W - get the GS 650W if you want extra headroom but the 550W is more than enough unless you want a heavy OC on the GPU.

I always follow what the maker of the graphics card says, otherwise it voids warranty.

Oh for fucks sake - That recommendation is if you have a Diablotek PSU - meaning a low quality PSU. They cover their bases so they don't get class action law suits. In reality - a 390 draws about 280W under full gaming load. Nobody will void your warranty as if the card doesn't have enough wattage it won't turn on - simple as that.

Ask @Aniallation and @STRMfrmXMN if you want but they will tell you the same

Refer to my signature for an explanation of power consumption and how it's usually lower than what you'd expect.

NO, you can run a R9 390 EASILY on a good 500W PSU. Don't believe me? Look at the TOTAL SYSTEM power draw on these R9 390 reviews & benchmarks.

They are even running MUCH MUCH beefier test benches then what you are running so that they will eliminate bottlenecks. Those power supply requirements by manufacturers are WORST CASE SCENARIO, when you are using a no-name generic PSU with insane amounts of fans, drives, OCs, etc.

An R9 390 on it's own will hit 300W if you overclock and shoot it up with heroine. Add in a 4690k getting to maybe 120W and no, 750W is not needed.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I get the point now, just a bit too late since I bought it anyways.

Try cancelling/returning - TT PSUs are usually very bad and present a risk to the system.
