Intel Announces Creation Of Automotive Security Review Board (ASRB)

The goal of the ASRB is to codify and design a framework, recommendations and best practices around automotive security. Chris Young, SVP, and general manager for Intel Security, summarized the reasons for creating the ASRB: "[intel can]...encourage that cybersecurity is an essential ingredient in the design of every connected car. Few things are more personal than our safety while on the road..."

 

 

 

this is kind of awesome. with all the latest car hacks and even fully hacking jeep's, this is a HUGE step in the right direction when it comes to cars, and hopefully it will help to remove this cybersecurity roadblock thats getting in the way of this revolution.

 

i remember linus talking about how ridiculous it was that JEEP had to mail out a USB to their consumers, and i did see that tesla updated their cars in realtime over wireless.

 

looks like a better standard is coming.
