Addicted to Technology?

Hi Guys,

 

So I've been on holiday in America and Hawaii for over a month. This means I've been away from my beloved Larry the Leviathen (my gaming PC :P), wonderful mechanical keyboard and corsair M60. I've been internet-ing on my Macbook pro and haven't ben able to play Skyrim or BF3 all this time and it's killing me. I've been craving some good solid game time, but it just hasn't been possible. Also the separation of me from the internet for most days (when we're out doing things) has caused me to pull far too many all nighters staying up on the internet. I do like to spend a lot of my time gaming or on the internet. I don't think this is unhealthy however as I still enjoy bike rides and going outside and being with friends. I play squash and I'm very healthy apart from the amount of time I spend on the computer.

 

My questions for you to discuss are

Well when im home im usually in front of my pc, but if im with friends on holiday or whatever i dont really care, i'd go on my smartphone to check my emails now and then but if i have something to do i generally dont care

Well yea i do enjoy technology (in a tech shop i feel like spending all day looking at the tech :wub: ).

Depends if you all day long stay on your as* in front of the PC it could be unhealthy but if you combine it with fitness time and time out then its fine :) .

does being on the internet from waking up till i go to bed mean im addicted nope! just bored only time i leave is to make something to eat or use the toilet even if i go on holiday i make sure i have plenty of data on my phone for all my youtube needs.

I need to start working out so that I can convince myself I'm not 90 percent on the PC.

When I'm out with friends or on holiday I don't care about it though. Probably cause its a crapper of a PC. Sadly it's the best crapper I've had thus far.

This, I just came back from a 3 week vacation and I have to say that I didn't really miss all of it. It is nice to have it back, though. :D

Holidays are awesome and you have to make the best of it. When you have 3 weeks of 30+ degrees Celsius, you really can't do anything other than enjoy the weather! ;)

Oh yeah, went to Vanuatu recently, fantastic and I didn't even have any urge to go near it other than a few shops to laugh at the blatant Chinese knock offs or the new gear.

Vanuatus got a weird mix of it, some is garbage yet some is the latest stuff around.

Not really. It's very ambivalent for me. Although I must admit I absolutely LOVE watching videos about anything related to technology.

Unless....... You start making love to your "tech" and that somehow originates a sequence of systematic viruses that control robots and destroy all of mankind....... (o.o)

addicted? yes, to the point that i feel compelled to grab new tech if it's a feasible improvement on the ones before - or the current market competitor's products.

 

time away from tech? if it's not long, then yes - even then i generally get bored quite fast

 

unhealthy? if i have more money then.... no, not it's not xD

I do enjoy getting away from technology. Just spent 3 days on a lake with no internet or phone.

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.
