internet speed in Cyprus

so i live in Cyprus which as you dont know is the island under turkey and as an island we dont realy have good internet connection for example i pay 35euros and i am getting 1 mbps with cable tv(discoveries chanels, and cartoon channels the only good the other are just crab) and a telephone line

but i dont realy fell that i have slow connection webpages load fast i watch youtube videos at 1080p without buffering

so what are you doing with all that speed you have people?

That's more or less my old connection, paid for 20/1, but got around 12/.7.

Upgraded to Fibre to the Cabinet, paying for 50/10, and normally get 47/10, so pretty good, I'm happy.

i've actually had an argument with a teacher about this a few years back.

 

the thing is, you dont *need* that high speed 24/7, but its REALLY nice to have a big download fly in fast, so you dont have to wait weeks on end to download that linux distro you want to play with

I have 40/10 right now, but in discussion with my ISP about upgrading the plan to 80/20, as the new house's line in supports up to about 76/20. Also, I'm on an Island too (:
