Iphone 6 and sim cards

So right now I am waiting to receive a new sim card for my iphone 6 and since I need a sim card I am wondering if I could use a different sim card  with the same carrier and what would happen if I were to change the sim card when mine arrived.

It should work. Being on the same carrier and all.

 

Has to be GSM network though.

Depends, it will work if you have an unlocked iPhone 6.

Otherwise you can contact your carrier for unlocking. 

It is unlocked but what will happen when I remove the simcard.

Just use a paperclip to eject it and make sure you insert it back in correctly with the hole on the left side.
