[Video Idea] AMD vs Intel | Integrated GPU

Hey,

could you make a video which compares AMD and Intel CPUs with focus on their integrated graphics?

I think this would make an interesting video because Intel seems to improve their graphics unit a lot with every generation. It would also be interesting to know how advanced the currently available integrated gpus are / how well they perform at a 1080p resolution.

It would be nice if the video mainly compares mid-range CPUs, as only a few will buy a high-end cpu without a dedicated graphics card, and at high-end CPUs Intel is the obvious choice.

Thanks,

Leitwert

PS:

A Pinned topic for video suggestions also would be nice, at least i was not able to find one.

AMD's APUs will probably beat intel's integrated graphics by a bit, though intel will still destroy when it comes to the CPU side of things.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

I honestly think intel should release a 6700k without integrated graphics as that would lower the cost and who buys a k model chip to not use a standalone gpu, they did lessen the 6700k integrated graphics which is a start but no integrated graphics would be interesting and have a lower price tag

Didn't they test this already? Or at least something similar?

Like this. While it's not exactly what OP wanted, he does compare AMD to Intel integrated graphics.

Those vidoes are old though. Intel has made some nice improvements to their iGPUs so a new video would be nice.

what, hd 4600 vs r7? yeah we still know who wins by a large margin

@TetraSky thanks for the videos, however the videos are kinda outdated and I was/am mainly interested how Intel is performing with there newer processors.

We already know who's gonna win out unless Iris Pro Graphics 5200/6200.

I don't see a reason of excluding them, especially if you consider you may have some extra money to spend on the cpu if you spare the dedicated gpu.

However I more thought about Intels new Skylake processors, unfortunately there are no Desktop processors with Iris pro 550 released (yet?).

Skylake Iris Pro =/= Haswell/Broadwell Iris Pro

besides prolly like haswell and broadwell iris pro chips, those are gonna be soldered on

Mostly about Intel Iris graphics in the skylake CPUs I guess, since they do offer better graphical performances than previous intel graphic solutions. (Or so they say, haven't bothered actually looking at an actual benchmark)

AMD's APUs have been shit on the desktop market, but in the consumer PC market, they have shone like the gold that they are. If you could have HSA acceleration on an APU laptop, you could get quite a lot of work done on a not-very-expensive laptop.

I have an A10-4600M laptop (the screen's gone - broke, now it's a blade server) and before I got my current laptop, that thing destroyed everything in its class in graphics performance. Pretty darn impressive. I'd like to submerge the heatsink in a water block to see what happens when it doesn't throttle to hell.

Iris Pro wasn't all that good in my opinion.

It was very limited in terms of gpus shipped, and it really didn't make a difference.

had they made a PHYSICALLY PURCHASEABLE CPU with the Iris Pro and I would've bought one the instant it came out.

But no, they regulated it to laptops and soldered CPUs.

AMD's Zen architecture (FX) will change everything in 2016... but so will Broadwell-E.
AMD better really hit the mark, or 2017's Skylake-E will be the last High End Desktop processor they ever compete with.

but both broad well and skylake have shown very dramatic performance differences from the haswell iGPUs

Iris Pro beats the A10 but the A10-7850k is 110 buck with MB while the Iris Pro is a allot more expensive. It is my main gaming rig while it won't play everything at 1080 ultra 60fps it does great at 720 and 1080 is just an upgrade away. What I would like to see is an APU with 4 zen cores and R9 graphics that can do dual graphics AND dual CPU.
