Depends on the contrast if the scene, frame rate, refresh rate.

Higher frame rate means there's less difference between the last frame and the current, high refresh means stuttering affect is reduces, and tears move position move oftenly, contract means the visual different between the last frame and the current is less.

That... causes... tearing...

I don't notice any tearing in the games I play. And I get over 120fps in most of the games I play.

if the framerate in the game doesnt perfectly match the monitor, it should tear.

I notice it when it's under 120fps. I've never noticed it above.

I have nothing of the sort.

Due to the way vsync handles frames, it's impossible to go without stuttering, depending on the frame rate and what not, it can be less or more noticeable.

The reasoning behind this is because with vsync enabled on a 60hz monitor for example, frame variance must either be 16 ms or 32 ms, when a frame isn't ready in time for a refresh, it's displayed the next monitor refresh instead, this causes a stutter. If you cap your fps to 59 on a 60 hz monitor, you'll get 1 stutter every 60 refreshes (which you'll notice), but if you had 46 fps, you'd get 14 stutters per 60 refreshs, because it's so often, the stuttering isn't noticeable, it's more just awful frame variance I guess at that point.

Hope this makes sense, hard to condense it into a short paragraph.
