Honestly, the Windows apps are better than Windows Media Center.

I disable all the built in media features normally after install as you can use VLC.

This thread is about Windows Media Centre, which as the name suggests, is a media centre, not a media player.

 

VLC is pretty fucking limited when it comes to "media centre" functionality, haha.

MANY MANY MANY thanks. There are so few systems that support cable card tuners (With DRM enabled) with proper guide and DVR integration and WMC was by far the easiest too use with the most support from third parties. I'll be trying this as soon as i get home too see if it will work with my HDHOMERUN network tuner while i wait for them to perfect the NAS DVR package/software.
