which brand for sli

ppolicherla91

so i am planning a 980ti sli setup so i can start gaming and whatnot at 4k but the issue is which card to get. I feel like the asus strix would be good since asus has the highest overclock out the box but i would like to hear other's opinions before deciding on which brand overclock to go to.

do fury x crossfire if you're doing 4k

980 ti is a champ but the fury x has the edge at very high resolutions

That may be true to an extent but overall the 980ti kills the FuryX in terms of performance.  The FuryX can hardly keep up when it's overclocked in a bench mark where the 980ti isn't.  It can't even touch the 980ti when the 980ti is overclocked

Uhm. Have you seen benchmarks? The Fury X 95% of the time beats or is on par with the 980Ti in 4k :/

I have and you obviously have not. The 980Ti does, what you like to call it "Kills" the Fury X at 1080p and by a bit smaller of a margin on 1440p. Now at 2160p or 4k the Fury X ( Because of HBM ) is slightly above the 980ti or is beating it by a fair bit. In my opinion, AMD Should of never came with with the Fury and just made the Fury X a 6GB card. If the Fury X had 6GBs of Vram it would honestly be the best single card for 2160p.

Nope

Alroght show me some benchmarks at 4k where the Fury X is beaten by the 980Ti by more then 5FPS on average. Not just from one game. Multiple. DigitalFoundry offers great benchmarks.

Yup, even the standard, cut down Fury in CrossFire beats SLI 980 Ti's in almost every single game at 4K.

Here is one of just the air cooled Fury in CrossFire vs the 980 Ti in SLI. From a more respected source too.
