Please help me decide what new Graphics card to buy

I have been enjoying my XFX Radeon HD 6870 for about 3.5 years now. It works very well but it is getting around time to upgrade.

I'd like to have 4GB or more of GDDR5.

I'm planning on spending $300-$350 (yay Tax Returns!) on a new card.

I have used mostly AMD (usually XFX branded) GPUs and have been very happy.

I have had friends and family that have had problems with their NVidia GPUs before. (granted those were mostly pretty cheap cards)

I am leaning towards an AMD (XFX branded) but am not completely against the idea of going with a NVidia card if there will be better performance.

My Current Rig:

Processor: i7-4771 CPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116941)
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233299)
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 6870 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521)
Power Supply: Corsair CX750 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139040)
Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131989)
240 GB Boot SSD
1TB Storage SSD

GPU size shouldn't be an issue thanks to my monster case (THOR  by Rosewill)

I have three 23 inch 1920*1080 monitors.

I only have DVI-D and VGA inputs.

I tend to only use the middle once for gaming. I would like the card to have enough horsepower to be able to run all three cards in eyeFinity (and whatever NVidia's equivalent technology is).

I usually use softTH (http://softth.net/) because I can  choose to use it on a per game basis.

I've attached a picture of the inside of my case for size reference.

Sorry for the potato picture quality.

Please let me know what your opinions are.

Let me know if you guys have any more questions.

I HIGHLY recommend the MSI R9 390 you have 750W perfect for the card because it does have a higher TDP than Nvidia i cureently own a R9 390

This is off topic, but man, that looks like a sweet case. I thought Rosewill only made junk lol.

On topic, for $350, you can easily get a 290x or 390.

What is that CPU :S?

Are you planning to overclock.

That aside a R9 390 or if you have a bit more cash maybe a GTX980/R9 390X.

Dem CX PSUs though.

I think you need to review what TDP means:

CPU: i7-4790K --- HEATSINK: NZXT Kraken X61 --- MOBO: Asus Z97-A --- GPU: GTX 970 Strix --- RAM: 16GB ADATA XPG --- SSD: 512GB MX100 | 256GB BX200 HDD: 1TB WD Black --- PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 --- CASE: NZXT H440 --- DISPLAY3 x Dell U2414H --- KEYBOARD: Pok3r (Clears) --- MOUSE: Logitech G Pro --- OS: Windows 10

I think you need to review what TDP means:

i already know what it means the R9 390 can be compaired to a GTX 970 which the 970 has less heat output and it's more power efficient because of maxwell architecture

R9 390, get 8GB of VRAM lmao

in other news, people are going to stamp on me for this because it's a loced processor, but have you considered getting a small aftermarket cooler to make things look pretty?

Ive a locked proc as well and have gone with a 120cm tower cooler. Lower noise, better temps and yes better looks as well :)

R9 390 and get a better PSU if you plan to OC that GPU.

the 390X doesn't seem like a good price for it's performance it's 100$ more than a 390 and all it really has is a slightly faster clock speed you can get that by over clocking a 390

Here is the link to that particular case.

I'm pretty sure there is a newer version but I am very happy with m current case.

A little. I did some temp monitoring for about 2 weeks and decided that yes, there would be a benefit, but I assigned a Low priority to it.

It may be time to reevaluate though.

CPUL i7-4771

I am not. I'm hoping that whatever card I choose will have enough horsepower that I won't need to. In 3 or 4 more years, I'll upgrade and pass my old card to another machine.

I'm pretty sure my wife would divorce me if I spent $600 on a video card (even if it is a boss card)
