So I just stress tested my CPU, which I don't think I've ever done with it before, after about 30 seconds it hit the set 90c safety limit in the mobo and shut off, I have a all in one cooler (single radiator though, i'm poor) is it normal?

Definitely not normal. Re-sit the block onto the CPU using new thermal paste and report back.

Forgot to add it's a 3770k.

No, I would check that the pump is running and that the cooler is making contact with the CPU. Also, are you OCing?

Nope, current mobo would probably explode if I attempted to OC.

try another stress test, aida64 or cinebench.

What is the cooler? Some people automatically assumed it's water without you specifically saying so.

Weak motherboard vrm probably. I only hit 90C in Prime 95 when running 1.4V+ on my 3570k.

Since you've got 'Some crappy business board' it might not be enough processor while being stress tested.

You know you can check there profile in-case it is listed there? The wonders of the internet.

It was hanging around 80-86 on Cinebench.

It's a GA-B75M-D3H if you wanna know.

EDIT: I should add I have rev 1.0 with only the 4 pin cpu power connector.

I do think it would be the motherboard VRM not being able to handle the heat/load. Since it wasn't designed to be used in that scenario.

Also you aren't able to overclock on the older B75 boards either - not to my knowledge anyway. It would indeed probably explode.

All in one CPU cooler with push pull configuration

Check the pump is at it's peak potential.

When I ran my i7 with a cheap sedion v12

Push pull I still got 90's at stock

Have u lowered ur vcore as by default mobos

Tend to overpower chips at stock
