GTX 980 ti or 2 GTX 970 in SLI

MatthewLynch

Depends what you're doing i guess but in most cases its always better to go for a more powerful single GPU.

The 980 Ti would be a better option.

970SLI will be more powerful than 980Ti but it will be more buggy aswell and some games dont support/have bad support for SLI. And all that for few %? Id go with 980Ti

ALWAYS go single gpu if you can, even if the SLI option is theoretically faster, you'll have a MUCH better experience with single gpu.

lol ok... by then u know the 6770/90k will come :) and if u got an pci 3.0 and dmi 2.0 then u want to upgrade to the next gen that is up to x2 the specs and such, so if u plan to upgrade be smart and go next gen (its almost the same price) don't stay on the old gen... if u can wait do it u will save more money to spend :)

And when that comes out rumors for something else comes and people say wait. I know how this stuff works. It's an infinite loop. If people have money to get what they want now don't tell them to wait. Also 5820k is still, the best CPU for the money as of now.

Just for all the people saying about getting a single card over two in sli I recently went sli and it made no difference in games what so ever apart from higher frames, sli is a lot better than what it used to be, however the 980ti performs on par with sli 970 sli as scaling is not 100 percent

So if u went with 980ti in a few years instead of buying a third 970 or just a new gpu, you can sli the 980ti and it will cost less
