Hyperthreading(+4 threads) or 500GB of SSD space

TLDR: 6600K and 1TB 850 EVO or 6700K and 500GB 850 EVO?

 

I'm planning a Skylake build in a Parvum S2.0.

 

Since the storage is screwed straight into the acrylic panels, all of my store is going to be handled by SSDs (no vibrations).

 

So my initial plan was more of a side-grade to my current one in the CPU department with a 6600K and a 1TB 850 EVO. However I noticed that the price difference between the 1TB and 500GB versions of the 850 EVO is about the same as that of the 6600K and 6700K.

 

I intend the build to be mostly for gaming and my storage needs are not all that high, only using ~600GB across both of my current drives and I could probably cut that down by selectively installing and uninstalling games (or moving them onto and off of a portable HDD).

Hyper-Threading does nothing for games - most use 4 Cores so the HT feature is wasted. Double the storage is smarter.

get the i7, iam sure that you have time for your Computer to load those Data

i7 because one, its better and two if you ever want to stream, render,edit it will be much better than any i5.

 

thats where hyperthreading shines.

Better overall would be i7-6700K (video editing, gaming, etc.), but you'll get 500GB but that's fine you can add a HDD inside later.

i5-6600K and 1TB is also okay, still good for gaming, you get 1TB SSD which is awesome but why not lower the size of the SSD and pair it with HDD? You'll save lots of money and you can get better part with the "Saved" money.

I would go with the i7 option. It is much easier to add in extra storage later on, than it is to swap out the cpu.
