R7 370 on 720p Gaming

kamcr02

Is the R7 370 enough for playing new games like GTA V, Assassin's Creed, BF4, etc. in Ultra settings 720p?

^ but I'd really not recommend that gpu. A 270/270x is notably better and can be found for basically the same price, and a 950 (for about 10 dollars more from the same manufacturer) or if you can find a 280/7950/7970 for similar pricing get that instead.

Here in our country, the MSI R7 370 2G and GTX 960 2G are almost at the same price. Should I go with the 960 instead?

MSI R7 370 2G = 170 USD

MSI GTX 960 2G = 191 USD

MSI R9 380 4G = 272 USD

Sapphire R9 390 Nitro TriX = 338 USD

MSI R9 390 8G = 383 USD

Here are the GPUs that are within my budget but I only play on 720p and plan to stay on it.

No cheapser 380?

Some land at 200 i thought..

Anyways ya 960 is way better

I cannot find any 2G version of the R9 380 here in our country that might be cheaper. I will be buying in December, so I think there will be price drop so I might able to get the 380 or even the 390 if someone will blessed me. [emoji1]

Probably not ultra (take my word for it, Radeon HD 7850 = R7 370) but if you turn down the settings a notch, you can get stable 720p60 in almost every game.

Even in 720p? I thought at first it can, but I'll be saving up to December so I might afford to get a 380 or 390. [emoji1]

380 is more than enough for 720p.

Yeah, but IN CASE I got the 390, do you think it will take 5 years or so before I do an upgrade or having it in crossfire?

Personally - I'd get a 380 - GCN 1.2 vs GCN 1.1 on the 390 so you get better Tessellation performance and then save some cash and upgrade again when the 14 nm GPUs drop in 2-3 years :)

Honestly - your choice. I've not had experience with CF since my old 6850 wasn't worth Crossfire. Neither is my current 280. If I had a 290 I'd still probably upgrade.

No problem - @ 720p you will be fine with a 380. 390 is for 1080p and 1440p really :D

If ur monitor supports 1080p r9 390 runs 1080p and smashes it, r9 390 should smash 1080p for 5 years so 720p should last even longer.

Mmm 720p, if u dont plan to MSAA then 380 should be fine for 5 years,

Personally would save up a little more get 380 and a 1080p monitor,but 720p isnt a problem
