Personally I would never downgrade a GPU even if you don't use it to the max. Keep it in there mate :)

I've run into a problem, if I am going to be using a Asus 1920x1080 monitor at 60HZ, then surely there is no need for a Sapphire R9 390?

Am I being naive? :P

The 390 will max out AAA games on high to ultra settings at a very good fps.  I would leave the 390 in the build.

you dont ever downgrade gpus, never ever ever.

 

you get the best you can afford no matter what the res you play on.

Just mod the crap out of Skyrim and suddenly it's not overkill!
