Consensus on max safe voltage for a 4790K?

What's the highest you guys would recommend going on a water cooled 4790K for voltages?

its all personal choice, i wouldnt go past 1.35v.

you can have the best cooler in the world, but going past the limit is well... going past the limit.

for me at 1.45V or less is the safe zone for 24\7 operation

good luck cooling a haswell i7 past 1.35V

All IMO

Air , I'd say around 1.25v, maybe a bit more at most

Water 1.4v depending on how much cooling capacity you have

Exotic (phase change dice ln2 ect) as much as you dare lol

NOTE* adding more voltage always poses a risk of killing your cpu , I'm not responsible if you throw the amount I said , at your cpu and it dies , do at your own discretion ect

Please quote me or tag me if your trying to talk to me , I might see it through all my other notifications ^_^

How high of an OC do you want? after a certain point its really not beneficial.

1.25v for air? a lot of air coolers perform better than water coolers.

I hit a wall at 4.6Ghz on stock voltage.  I'd like to see where I can go beyond there and stay stable.

its just a general voltage table i follow , i assume that someones using a rather small/medium sized air-cooler

ive gone up to 1.6v on subzero water cooling lol all that for 5.2ghz :P

not practical lol

You got 4.6Ghz on stock voltage? I am not an overclocking expert, but isn't that like, REALLY lucky?

by stock he meant he left his voltage set to "auto" and doesnt realize his mainboard is dumping in more than stock voltage

leaving your voltage set to auto is not stock voltage, unless your multiplier is set to the default value.

even then , some boards will auto overclock like mine (not the best solution as they add more then is necessary on the voltage side)

you do realise alot of the big air coolers cost as much as some 120mm water coolers?

my r1 can be picked up for less than a h80i and beats a h100i.

Thought I'd ask since u did specify as a Evo 212 wouldn't be taking on a h110 or a custom loop

Hell no, the 212 Evo is for slight ocs, plus it's only £25, course it wouldn't compete :P

3.37v on the core? Their cpu would die almost instantly.
