Is my laptop's graphics card powerful enough?

Go to solution Solved by Chatzev,

650M is not too bad.  You wouldn't be able to play on super high settings.  But I get respectable framerates at high settings at 1920x1200 with mind so you'd probably have to lower it to medium or low.  The GT 650M is an underclocked GT 640, so you can use that information to look for some benchmark

.

Hey all, until I build my PC in a few months I am stuck with using my laptop. It has a gtx 650m 3gb and I was wondering if it could power a 1440p display?

Thanks

Probably yes if you want drop the detail to extreme level. My friend's GT 630M is having hard time in 720p.

In termes of memory, sure it can. But the graphics card is about the equivalent of a GTX 450 in termes of power, so don't expect to run everything maxed out

Watch movie at 1440p? Yes. Play Crysis 3 at 1440p? Nope.
