Enough with the 212 hype already. It's a very cheap fan. Not bad for the price, but hardly a steller performer. If you want something decent, the NH-U14S is the best buy.

Nah, the NH-U14S is very close to the D15. It sometimes even beats it in terms of cooler per dB.

cryorig r1 ultimate any day of the week, easy to install, looks good and cools good.

 

it beats the nh-d15, proof you say? skip to 17 mins for the oc temps.

Hyper 212 evo for the money, Dark Rock Pro 3 and Noctua D15 (i think it is called that) for the performance

the dark rock pro 3 is one of the if not the worst cooler to install, does nobody on this forum know who cryorig are......

If you want the very best air cooler, the noctua NH-D15 is the top dog, but it's good to know what your budget is before we can really give you a recommendation.

Absolute performance is meaningless without context, because it could be very noisy at that cooling performance. It's best to test like hardware.info. Lock one variable (noise) and look at the performance. That way you can tell the efficiency of the fan.

As said by one of the others, it ain't the best if it's considerably louder, which unfortunately the R1 is, meaning that the 2C difference is minimal when you take into account the noise levels.

well, noctua had this cooler a while back, basicly 3 fans sandwiched between 4 heatsinks.

 

i've looked around for it a few times, but i cant find it anymore.

38 db vs 33 db, not really that big of a difference.  Sure it's louder, but it runs cooler and looks much nicer IMO.

exactly, i thought coolers were to get better  ocs at lower temps? i guess these guys are just noctua fanboys hmmm. the cryorig is better but they cant accept that.
