A quiet efficient fan

Go to solution Solved by HeathCliff,

Seems I misunderstood, I meant a cooler; not a fan. xD Just misworded it, i'm looking for a quieter cooler. Yes.

For £40, the best in my opinion would be the Cryorig H5.

http://www.ebuyer.com/666088-cryorig-h5-amd-and-intel-processor-heatsink-cooler-cr-h5a

Not sure about the noise issue as mines if fairly quiet. As for size, what case are you using?

So, I picked out this fan: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2 Mainly because of the good reviews, but the size concerns me; and also complaints that it is too noisy, can anyone pick out a alternative that is quieter please?

Can we keep it around the same price tag. ^^

Do you have a budget? At that price point, the 212 EVO beats pretty much anything.

I'd consider any fan up to £40, I don't really understand Liquid Cooling. :P

That thing is absolutely terrible. The Noctua NH-U14S is the best buy for this budget.

Really? Can you link me to the sources because I've hardly heard any negative comments about it.

Can only link a Dutch review.

http://nl.hardware.info/reviews/5720/6/cryorig-h5-cpu-koeler-review-looks-ok-koeling-ook-grafieken-geluidsproductie

Basically the fan is really loud and it cools average. So it's a very inefficient cooling design. Noctua NH-14S is the most efficient fan out there right now.

Meaning, it cools the most at the least amount of noise.

http://nl.hardware.info/reviews/6162/8/29-cpu-koelers-review-getest-volgens-nieuwe-methode-testresultaten-koeling-bij-30-dba-@-10-cm

212 EVO scores pretty shit.

Thanks for the info. It's quite interesting as I know someone who has one, and doesn't sound all that loud. Maybe a defect? I'll keep it in mind for next time.

I'd have to agree with Majestic, my U14S is fucking beast mode - especially with a second A15 fan - it ran neck and neck with my D15S for a long time.

The benefit of Noctua's upper range coolers, they tend to be very reasonably priced and are nicely quiet. You get their elite tier quality construction and customer service to boot, which is worth the small extra over something like the Cryorig H5.
