Thought I would show off my new receiver.

It was only 15$

It is a brushed aluminum beauty

Also, a question, why do many receivers not have anolouge surround inputs?

made it much simpler to hook up to my pc.

Looks great (and like a fingerprint magnet xD). Not sure about the inputs though. It should come as standard is my thought.

Bought it from some drug addict right?! ^_^

IDK, some guy on craigslist

Nice receiver. I am not experienced with Onkyo since I am on my first AVR anyway. It became a Pioneer since the Onkyo look just plain boring and have a flat and always the same design.

Yeah, im on my 3rd, my first i got for free, but it had no surround inputs. (sony STR-d965)

My second i got for 40$, but the HDMI was wonkey, and it wasnt that great (sony str-dh520)

Then this i got for 15$, and its perfect

When I build my speakerboxes, I just put the amp in the box. Saves a fair bit of hassle, aside from noise from frikkin long ass cables.

But receivers are different.

You've got me looking into used receivers on C-list. Do you have any tips for the initiation, meet, money transfer/pick up? I've contacted a few people using Craigslist before, but never actually met them or bought anything.

Idk,I usually ask a price that is too low, they counter offer, and that continues until they say yes.

But on this receiver I didn't, as is was only 20$, I just asked for 15.

Then I just go there, look at it, make sure it looks good, then give them money, then leave with my m good deal

Dude, SR606 is a great receiver. Say uh what's your home address, I need it for... stuffs

Yeah I can't believe I found it for that.

The only problem (that I already knew) was that the HDMI output is broken.

But it looks like an easy fix if I ever need it.

Nope.

Also, now I have a temp probe, so I'll test receiver temps, stock, with fan in cabinet, and water cooling

Some people would tell me the address only when I was about to go there, but that's it.

Are you going to school?

uhh... Yes. My setup does not need a reciever and I was making a back to the future reference. My setup has amplified speakers. The job of a receiver is usually to be an A/V switch for TVs and a speaker amp. When used on a PC, its only used as a speaker amp.

Nice okay. That's good to know. Someone responded to me with a reasonable offer for a receiver. I might be purchasing it later today.

You're missin out man... only a little bit though

The back of my PC is a giant squid of cables. But I dont mind. What I do want however, is something to run my headphones and a 5.1 setup at the same time. This way I can just mute the speakers and use headphones if I want, and I dont need to restart games to switch audio outputs.
