Loool at some of these posts, if you can't tell the difference between 144hz and 60hz you're blind as a bat, playing games like counter strike will show a significant improvement.

Imagine if real life ran at cinematic 60FPS.

Open your eyes and break your chains. Console peasantry is just a state of mind.

Jesus Christ Id overlock myself to 75hz xD, 60hz and 60fps feels so awful it's unreal, now I have a good Gpu I find it hard to play anything under 80fps.

I can understand why he said its not worth it, it's becase he simply cannot afford it and has a poor gpu (260x).

I regret mentioning my monitor now.. lol Completely strayed from my original question..

don't get a 780 and don't get a 970, I did ask how much a 390 would cost you..... Get a r9 390, bit better than a 970 with 2x the vram.

Again, I did not say I do not experience differences between 60fps and 144. It's all about if its worth it with the particular games I play.

But you're telling others it's not worth it? That's your opinion but it doesn't mean it's correct, the majority of people will say it's a very noticeable increase, I can see a difference at 75hz over 60hz, and it's noticeable, 144hz is over 2x that of 60hz, they wouldn't have made 144hz panels if they didn't think people would see a good enough improvement, they would lose money.

I do agree they're a little on the expensive side though.

I can't afford it? Do you know how much a an IT makes just starting off working at a desk doing simple remote work? Trust me, I can afford to build a killer rig. Unlike most people here in America, I do not contribute to spending unnecessary money just to get small edifications at any perspective. My next upgrade will be a GPU that's three times and powerful as my 260X when I "need" it.

I'm in the US so $300+. I may be able to get 2 780's for 400-450 though. Still go with the 390?

I'd go with the 390, apparently nvidia are been cocks recently with the drivers for the 7 series cards, I really wouldn't bother getting any 7 series card expect the 780ti.

Why a 960 bro? Why not something like an r9 390 or 970?

Also I don't know my friend, I don't live in the U.S.

I built my PC about 2 years ago in which the R7 260X was considered a respectable and still is a great performing GPU for 1080p gaming without having to drop down to low settings just to get 40-60fps ha. I'm actually looking at upgrading my GPU to a GTX 960 soon just for the sake of it.

If you bought it a while ago I can understand, just don't get a 960 when you could get a used 280x for cheaper that's better.

Yes, ive not looked at recent benchmark test so I did not know if the R9 200 series was still relevant. Money is really not the concern but I also have limited space in my small form factor case that I really like.
