Nvidia GPU(s) Obsolete - Must wait for Artic or Pascal or Volta? Help!

But honestly, if I were to purchase a GPU at this very moment, I wouldn't lay awake by night if I went with current 900 series cards, sure they may be ''obselete'' or not be the best in DX12 enviroments, but honestly, do we know when games you actually wanna play, will support DX12? I for example, dont play most Triple A titles, as they dont interrest me, so a card like a 980 Ti would probably ''last'' me longer, as I wouldn't be as much effected by DX12.
