Everyone will be suggesting his own favourite.  There is no such thing as a "best" antivirus.  Just pick something that works for you and use common sense when browsing.

Antivirus won't help you since there are FUD (Fully Undetectable) viruses out there.

In the past I've run pretty much everything from AVG Free to Bitdefender. From my experience Kaspersky and Bitdefender I definitely like the most. Avoid Eset, the software is very much mediocre and it isn't as good as those other two.

No such thing exists. You don't need an anti-virus or anti-malware if you know what you're doing, I'm not meaning to insult or offend you or anyone here. But common sense is the best defense for individuals against malicious software. But if you really want a free anti-virus pick any of these 3: avira, avast, avg. Also install malwarebytes anti-malware as a free version so that you have an on-demand scanner.

 

If you're really really paranoid then install a Linux distro or dual boot if you want Windows as a secondary/gaming OS.

i use f secure only cuz it was free with my virgin account for a year after it runs out im gonna just use windows 10 defender

As many others already said "your brain", but I want to add something: a firewall which is easy to control but still gives you all the options to block and allow stuff.

My personal favorite is "Windows 10 Firewall Control" from Sphinx because the base edition is free and works well for most users.
