Do these use a SAS interface? And can a ASUS Z10PE-D8 boot from them?

no, it uses the nvme interface

but, yes it should be able to boot from it

Hey there spartaman64,
 
NVMe drives use the PCI lanes and there are no RAID controllers for such drives that bypass the SATA controller. I would contact the manufacturer for more info and for questions like "Can I use multiple drives in a RAID array? is it safe? how?". 
You should be able to boot from this drive without any problems. :)
