Latest leaks showed Dell XPS 13 and Asus UX303 with Intel Skylake CPU (and possibly Thunderbolt 3 on the XPS 13 !?)

Since desktop version of Skylake CPUs were announced, it is expected that Intel may soon update the mobile lines with Skylake CPUs as well. And it may come sooner than we though. NotebookCheck.net reported, listings from 2 online retailers may indicate that Dell's XPS 13 and Asus's UX303 may soon be updated with Skylake processors.

(it is in Mexican Peso, thus it is around $1500)

Firstly, an unannounced model of UX303 was found on a German online retailer "2Compute.net" .This model was listed as "UX303UB-R4021T-BE", and it was equipped with Core i7-6500U CPU, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, and a 13.3-inch FHD display for roughly 1200 Euros.

Then on a Mexico online retailer website "TiendaMax.com",  an unannounced model of XPS 13 was found. It was also equipped with Core i7-6500U, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD. But it has a QHD+ screen (3200x1800), and one USB 3.1 Thunderbolt port (but it was not stated in the spec whether this is USB 3.1 Type-C or not.)

I'm exited for the XPS 13, if it was really equipped with Thunderbolt 3. I hope it can be equipped with more ram , and PCIE SSD as well...

*update:  as reported by Notebook Italia, more listings of these 2 notebooks were found, and these refreshes may soon be revealed in IFA this September . And reported by Liliputing.com, it seems the Skylake version of the XPS 13 will be a little bit thicker and heavier than the Broadwell version, measure 12.4″ x 8.1″ x 0.7″ and weigh about 3 pounds. (The Broadwell version measures 11.98" x 7.88" x 0.33-0.6", and weight 2.6 pounds for non- touch version, and 2.78 pounds for touch-screen version)

Am I blind or does it say 26k for the XPS?

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

It is not in America dollar. I believe it is in Mexico currency, thus should be around $1500...

Pls feel free to correct me if I'm wrong....

All ultrabooks are like this

They were designed to be as light and as thin as possible

They were designed to look eye-catching and business like

They were also designed to save energy and yet have enough power

People who buy Ultrabooks don't care for performance (Business men)

Or, at least, not everyone games on their laptop. And believe me, if you're carrying a laptop around with you all day, you don't want it to weigh more than 2kg.

Although the Skylake mobile graphics may well make gaming on ultrabooks more viable.

I want a laptop that has good battery life, can load webpages, has a decent ability to word process. (and maybe video playback)

Plus i dont want to play AAA games on my laptop, it really sucks playing on tiny keyboards without mice. I am thinking of getting a Skylake laptop so i can play stuff like Starcraft (Not 2), Quake(3 arena or live), any MAME games and emulators, and boatloads of games on the Steam store that dont need 1500 dollar desktops to play.

I think I need that XPS 13.  After seeing the bezel-less display so many times - I just can't imagine someone going for other ultrabooks unless they need more ram.  But damn is that thing gorgeous *_*

Totally agree.

That's the main reason I went with an Ultrabook. Though, it needs replacing. 4GB of RAM just isn't enough.

Truth.

That's what I do on my ultrabook. You can easily play StarCraft 2 on them as well ;)

You know I thought the same thing, but then I looked at the UX305.

Much cheaper, yet offers excellent value for the money. To get the same features in the Dell, you have to spend ~$650+ more (in Canada at least).

Too much for simply having thinner bezels if you ask me, especially since they both are the same weight.

Yeah but i dont play 2... Played it on a friends account and it just didn't feel as good as SC:BW. So we went back to play SC/Homeworld2 for our LANs.
