I'd quite fancy some Carbon Fiber ones actually. Will add some sportiness to the meal :)

I almost forgot those!

I want to buy my own non-flimsy reusable chopsticks on amazon and I wanted to see if you guys had any recommendations :D

http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Steel-Vacuum-Chopsticks-Pairs/dp/B003J4NF24/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1375903582&sr=1-4&keywords=chopsticks

Looking at these two. They don't have to be more than one pair, but I would like them to be <$5 :P

Those are both made in China, probably contain lead... Find chopsticks made in Japan! Perhaps you have an Asian market somewhere near by?

I thought this was a troll thread when I looked at those links but I'm beginning to think you're serious.

Get wooden chopsticks man, there's a reason Japanese people don't use metal ones. They're too slippery and hard to get a grip on things, especially noodles.

That would be awesome. I feel like they would be slippery though.

I thought many people would get that vibe.

Get plastic or wooden chopsticks (wood chopsticks are great for cooking)... Been using them for my whole life.
Don't like metal  chopsticks unless i'm eating korean.

why dont you go down to your local chinese shop / china town and get hands on with some so you know what you want?

I like bone chop sticks they seem a good balance between steel and wood

I literally searched all the local places where I would be able to find them (or so I believe). I couldn't find any chopsticks.

I think I'm just going to get a pair of bamboo ones eventually :D

Stainless steel is not rust-proof. Only rust-resistant.

Depends. You will struggle to ever get any corrosion happening on 316 (marine grade) stainless steel, lower grades like 304 which are cheaper aren't entirely rust resistant, which unfortunately gets used a lot in tools and other stuff because its... Cheaper.

Yeah, I just don't think you'd find chopsticks made out of high grade stainless steel.

I just use wooden ones, they last very long. You'll have to get some good quality ones though that are smooth and not the cheap one time use ones from cheap Asian restaurants.

Metal chopsticks are too heavy for my liking, they look pretty cool though.

I personally prefer coarse wooden ones because the texture creates a natural grip for the food.

Smooth and polished chopsticks slip too easily.
