Should I upgrade?

Hey guys, I currently have an AMD A10-7700k and I was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to the Athlon X4 860K. I did some research and saw that it was a better CPU than my APU, however I don't know if it is worth it to upgrade. Should I? Or should wait longer and upgrade to a new MOBO and a FX CPU or even an i5? Thanks :)

dont this having a 6 core 6300 or 8 core 8350 will make ur pc run blazing fast... cuz it wont... Get an i5

Upgrading an old technology to another old technology is not really recommended. I would get an i5/i7 of Haswell (Refresh) or Skylake, OR hold out for Zen if you are Team Red.

Then it will make a bit of a difference with an I5 and big difference in cpu intensive games.

What about the i3 4170? From what I can tell, the only benefit to the 4460 is the extra cores. The 4170 seems to be better in every way.

I am not that knowledgeable about Intel cpu's.

I only know about a few of them (the most popular ones).

According to CPU boss, that is the only benefit to it. Everything else seems to be in the i3's favor.

Yeah the FX line is logical only if he play many tripple A titles such as Ark Survival Evolved, Grey Goo, GTA V, Zombie Army, Battlefield series games, Planetside 2, H1Z1, Valve Games, Witcher 3 & other well optimized games... :P

My most intesive game is probably GTA V. Which I rarely play because I can barely handle it with my apu xD

I play TF2 and rocket league mainly. But do play AAA titles when they come out. Also, I want to get into racing sims
