Can you actually contribute to the topic?

Anyway, the build looks pretty good, but X99 or high capacity RAM is not necessary, like, at all for gaming. The PSU is also like, a bit overkill, you could've made do with 1000/850watts easy. I'm wondering why you didn't get a mechanical keyboard with all the cash too, the K70 series from Corsair is a good place to look. Also, is there a reason that you got a 3 way SLI bridge for 2 cards or?

Future Proof, Eh?

Tell me that tomorrow when you run Aida64 and it crashes.

Tell me that tomorrow when a game is so photo-realistic, it has to run on low and 640 * 480.

Please don't say futureproof

Although you can't 'futureproof' anything, You can certainly make it run games better in 3/4 years time when you spend more money on a build. You're being dicks, follow the CoC and contribute to the op's question. Linus himself ever so occasionally uses the word 'future-proofing' so shut ya gobs.

Yes, but when linus uses the word, he hates the word about 1000 times before he says it.

Also, we aren't being dicks, we are being truthful. If you build a pc today, it may not fill the needs of tomorrow.

What about in 100 years when we have quantum computers running games at insane resolutions and unmeasurable FPS?

Jkjk, but for real, your PSU is overkill even for dual 980ti's, and that motherboard really isn't worth it if you aren't taking advantage of its features (which you wont be for playing normal AAA games)

But you didn't answer the question or give any reasonable advice to the op, you literally posted to be a dick, fine if you don't like using the word, give him some actual advice though.

Actually, quantum computers wouldn't run games, they usually only work on specific tasks requiring lot's of raw power. They aren't meant for gaming *tips fedora*

titan x is a 12gb and a single card would solve the purpose but 2 x 6 Gigs in SLI would work better.

someone told me that.

anyone please comment on this

vram dosent stack buddy :P

Memory doesn't stack in SLI, it'll still be 6b VRAM, it doesn't work like that. So two 6gb cards still = 6gb VRAM

Advice: Don't use the word future proof, and only buy one gpu so you can upgrade later without wasting money.

Also, don't post threads like this if you know the system is a monster.

Just want to say unless you plan on doing a single PC gaming-stream setup that is overkill and unnecessary for a gamer, I would have something like that for a designer. The max any gamer uses in terms of RAM is 16GB and an octo-core also not needed a quad core would suffice and with I just saying that moving to Z170 is fine. X99 for a gamer trying to "future proof" his PC is not the right platform imo, then yeah move to the new CPUs and stuff. I know this is more of a rant for gamers trying to push limits when you don't need to push but spending so much for not making use of it all is a bad idea.

It's not my thread, and there are always ways to make a system better, no matter how much money is spend, different strokes for different blokes and what not.

it's a nice build for sure

you could get away with a less expensive and lower wattage psu though. 1000w should be just fine

you could also get away with a cheaper motherboard like an msi

i would get two titan x's if you can afford it
