Leaving The Dark Side

I'm looking to leave Apple, I've had an iPhone since leaving flip phones and I'm just ready for an Android.
I hear a lot of great things, but being a former "fanboy" (emphasis on the quotation marks there) I have no clue where to even start.
I use verizon prepaid, and I'm looking for a good Android phone to move to.
I'm really considering a Galaxy s6, but would love suggestions for a good a good phone to bring me to the light.

LG G4 is nice, also has wireless charging (as an option) and the buttons are on the back so you don't hit them by mistake.

That should be a good enough phone. Also, I wouldn't call the iPhone 'dark side' per say. At least you are trying Android out, instead of simply going for the iPhone (which is what most people do).

The droid turbo is a great option if battery life is important. my dad gets about 2 days out of his. (medium/lightuser)

otherwise the s6, LG G4, One Plus 2 once it's available.

I say dark side jokingly, I'm just looking for something a little different than what I have now.
I looked at the one plus two, I haven't seen if it's going to be on verizon. I've read different things.
Where I live verizon is about the only option.
The s6 is what I've been leaning towards the most, I'm about to check out the G4
