gtx 980/ gtx 980Ti transition plan

justRICHTOFEN

Hello everyone, I've purchased a Gigabyte gtx 980 g1 a few months ago, and have my eye on the 980Ti g1 since it came out. I currently do not have the money to upgrade, but around february i should be getting enough to get one, (maybe sooner, i'm not sure). Anyways i wanted to get some feedback on what i should do with my 980. I'm really adamant about keeping things clean and like new, and the 980 would be in great condition, so im thinking maybe selling it. At the same time I've though about keeping it so if i ever have gpu problems or my 980 Ti is DOA i'll have a back up gpu. What do you guys think? If i did sell it how should i go about that? I'd like to get as close to the price i paid for it ($500). As i normally say any help or advice is very appreciated^^

Upgrading from a 980 to 980ti don't really make much sense.

The 980Ti has more Vram, and preforms better. I must admit, im also wanting to get it for how it looks as well, but mostly for performance increase^^

They go for around $400-$425 these days, and occasionally you can find them for under $400

In canada the going rate used is 500$ so i thought it would be 450$ ish USD, i wouldnt sell less than 425, it would be easy on ebay

If you have a display that can make use of the performance increase I would say go for it, bit usually I don't recommend upgrading a GPU unless you will be getting gains of over 60%.
