three things i can directly say:

- you can NEVER "max out every game"

- at that budget you should really consider an ssd

- Z97 and non-k processor is kind of an odd thing, especially when going i7.

But it's 80+ Gold...

It also happens to be from a series that has extremely good reviews keep the PSU but unless you're planning on streaming or recording drop the RAM down. A 970 can easily beast through 1080p but its really up to you if you want to go with the 980 instead. Oh and... grab an SSD while you're at it...

For the PSU get a EVGA G1 or GS you've got a G1 which was made by FSP. Companies like EVGA or Corsair take PSUs from companies such as Seasonic and rebrand them.

Don't worry about the SSD. If you are already pushing your budget don't sacrifice performance for a SSD.

16gbs is a good amount also.

The supernova? Not al supernovas are made by the same company. Some are Seasonic. Others are super flower, and some are FSP. The one he picked was made by FSP. You can get much better PSUs that will be much better for the money and much more reliable.

@STRMfrmXMN

@Aniallation

Please.

Educate this one. He needs it :P

(No offence @Runescapian, but you just need to learn what the gas pedal does before you drive a car.)

EDIT:

Also, do you need the i7? If you are going to do rendering / HEAVY multitasking, go ahead. But, if not, get an i5.

Z97 is made for SLI/Crossfire and Overclocking. But you don't have SLI/Crossfire. Nor do you have an overclockable CPU. What? :P

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

80+ Gold means nothing when it's only good for efficiency and crap at everything else.

Possibly OP wants a black and white motherboard to suit the color scheme, in which there aren't any B85/H97 boards that have white accents.

What would you suggest as a replacement for the G1 he has now?

Cause if I'm correct, it's not really a good unit. Is there anything for around the price that doesn't light his system on fire? :P

Der ya go

The non 1000W G1 series has awful voltage regulation. The 1000W G1 series is quite good and very much recommended.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

1. Tell me your specs, peasant. You're a dick sucking salty little prick.

2. I'm a streamer and do rendering so I will stick with that cpu

3. I plan on crossfiring in the future.

  1. Not sure if /sarcasm, but there were chances that your system could have killed it's own components, or in extreme cases, lighted fire. I could have let that happen but I called two experts here to help you. Treat people here with a bit of respect
  2. Fair enough.
  3. Then you should be fine with that mobo. Make sure your PSU has enough watts later on, though.
