difference between gaming and workstation cards?

Go to solution Solved by _ASSASSIN_,

workstation cards use ECM ram because they are designed to have no error
the are tested and binned much more heavily because of the high price and low heat output

they are also designed to run 24/7

so it depends

So in F@H is there a difference between gaming and workstation cards?

Gaming cards focus more on a higher clock speed for more fps and workstation cards focus on 3d applications and editing programs!

The biggest difference is, that they come with special drivers which unlock some features disabled by the consumer drivers.

For Folding - no - there is no difference - as long as the FAH supports it, it works. Note - I believe most Quadro and FireGL and the like cards do not perform quite as well as their mainstrean equivalent... This is more due to tweaking of the project Core's and the FAH client.
