This setup has a locked, cheaper version of the CPU, has a cheaper CPU cooler that will be ideal for this CPU and features a Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD.

So I am looking to build a Pc just for gaming but at a budget of $1300 CAN and do not have much room to expand as I am already over my budget some.

I do not need any monitors or peripherals

I've made one part list but so not know if it will be good in all aspects.

Thanks for any help ahead of time

Don't get a CX PSU or you run the risk of burning it up when OCing - Get a 390 - should be cheaper and more powerful than a 970 all while having 60% more VRAM - if you ask me skip the OCing part altogether, get a 4460 + H97 board and a SeaSonic M12II EVO PSU - modular and in times better than corsair's CX, CS and even better than the RM series.

that's one expensive ass msi 970 you could get a 980 for that amount

I would drop the 970 all together and get a R9 390 and use the extra money to get a z170 motherboard and i5 6600k chip and an SSD

also unless your in love with that case I would get an S340 in black and red if that the colors your going for which it looks like you are.

390 - not a 380 mate.

380 is less powerful, get a MSI 390.

And don't get CX ._.

I'd get a 390 or 290 instead, and invest in a better PSU as the CX units are not a reliable choice, you could get a EVGA GS or B2 or a Cooler master V650

This does not include the OS. You will need to get an SSD in the near future as well, it's a great upgrade. This setup should be better than what you linked.

Not going to oc the cpu

So I still need 1

I will add later when I do oc

when is later? if you say 2-3 years you'd probably be better of getting an OC mobo+CPU combo then instead of now.

Considering the 4690 is like 40USD more expensive than the 4460 id still get the 4460 beacuse the performance difference will be next to none. Maybe 2-3 FPS.

But what else could he possibly upgrade for the 40USD? He can't grab a R9 390X for the price difference so I guess it's pointless since the build I linked fits his 1300$ budget perfectly with a 1299$ ;)

Save the money, no reason to spend just for the sake of spending, if he intends to overclock id say get the 4690K, if not get the 4460 its simple really. I see you were able to include an aftermarket cooler in his budget so he can OC abit.

@theereal the 4690 is 30 CAD cheaper than the 4460 on ca.partpicker.com so it's not worth getting the 4460 if you spend 1300 in total for the 30 CAD difference. 4690 is a better cpu.
