I've been looking at the razer Black widow chroma tornament edition for awhile because it is 10 keyless, rgb, and pretty cheap for being rgb and mechanical.

I know the switched are the weird Razer "blue" switches, but is the keypress id lighter than mx blues then maybe they might be like clicky mx red switched maybe.

Can anyone who owns one of the razer mechanical devices  vouch for this weird theory?

(It would be primarily a gaming keyboard for my house)

If anyone wants tow suggest another keyboard my preferences are:

Switch type: Gaming- MX Blues, typing- MX reds ( i know I'm weird)

Layout: Home-10 keyless , Work - Full Layout

Lighting: rgb would be nice, but i dont really care if it looks good

Gaming genre: %85 MOBA, %14.5 FPS %0.5 Indie

Current: R2600X@4.0GHz\\ Corsair Air 280x \\ RTX 2070 \\ 16GB DDR3 2666 \\ 1KW EVGA Supernova\\ Asus B450 TUF

Old Systems: A6 5200 APU -- A10 7800K + HD6670 -- FX 9370 + 2X R9 290 -- G3258 + R9 280 -- 4690K + RX480

Well with those preferences, that Razer keyboard is out of question since they don't use Cherry MX switches :P

They used to use Blues I think, but now use their own switches which indeed feel a bit like Blues (IMO).

Anyways, the TKL keyboard that are out on the market now are from CM Storm, Razer or Ducky (not sure if the Corsair ones are TKL..)

And I'm not sure which are RGB...

Either way, I have looked into the Razer Blackwidow Tournament too, as I want a TKL board too and the price was reasonable.. But I would rather get a small keyboard with numpad from CM Storm with actual Cherry MX switches

I Currently Have a CM storm Rapid With MX Blues. I got it after I took My K70 vengeance w/ MX reds to work to use

I'm just looking at my options.

The Stafe RGB puts up a good arguement though

Be aware that MX Blue RGB is no longer available if you are intending to get Blues

Their keyboards aren't horrible. They are getting better on the reliability front I guess (Although one of their Aatrox's dying in the middle of an Evo final was just embarrassing. Weird crazy world where it's Madcatz to the rescue). My Blackwidow has held up for two years now, so, can't be that bad

They get a lot of hate for using Kailh switches over Cherry MX, which currently only Corsair have in RGB. Tesoro have RGB mechanical keyboards.

The big reason I seem to recall people citing was that they were made in Asia instead of Germany. Pretty first world complaint seeing as everything else in your PC setup was likely made in either Korea or Taiwan. Then Omron entered the battle alongside Logitech, which are made in Japan anyway.

Side by side, I'd have a hard time picking a Cherry switch over a Kailh, so, there's that. The Razer switches are a little lighter. I dunno man, a switch is a switch, I don't see anyone re-inventing the wheel anytime soon, so to speak

You being weird is an understatement :P I'm typing on a Cherry red board right now, and it's awful. Red switches wreck my accuracy. I miss my brown board, but gaming makes up for the awful typing experience. (although, come to think of it, browns/clears are really the only switches I'm actually accurate on. I suck with Blues too...)

Wouldn't your board being 2 years old make it a Blackwidow 2013? Those still used cherry switches. Kalih switches (which Razer uses now) are not very good. Apparently, in addition to being unreliable as a whole, the consistency of feel between individual switches can be pretty bad too, and that's like half the reason you get a mechanical board... Also, next month Ducky will be releasing the Shine 5 which will be RGB Cherry. Honestly, @OP, I would wait for the Shine 5...
