Cancelling business

I have a company that’s registered in August 2011 with 4 directors. The company has not started business till date. There is no bank account in the name of the company but has PAN number and service tax number. But due to certain issues the directors want to close the company registration and cancel the registration. Whom should I consult?What am I supposed to do?

You should start by canceling with your state tax ID.  As a previous business owner, after that it's all down hill and easier.

In my state it's a matter of filling out, signing, and filing a form that formally dissolves the company.  It's actually a pretty straightforward process creating and dissolving an LLC.

 

Source: I manage a LLC that doesn't really exist to do any business.

 

Although the fact you mention directors would probably imply you've set up a S-corp and not an LLC, but I doubt the process is much different.  As mentioned above, make sure to pay all your final taxes or at least submit a final tax return next year.
