Booting from USB in bios

Jacles

I've installed a Windows 10 iso file on a USB stick. But when I into my bios the USB only shows a folder and not the iso file. Any suggestions?

???

Did you boot from the USB?

Where in the BIOS can you see the folder/ISO?

More explaination please.

Did you just put the ISO file on the USB stick?

You need to turn your usb drive into a bootable drive first, you can't just put an iso file on there.

You can do that with the program "iso to usb" for example.

If you try to boot windows from anything (usb, dvd etc.) you won't need to go into bios???

Just let the magic happen.

Some usb drives can't be turned into bootable drives though.

So if you are unlucky you will need a different usb drive or a dvd and do it the oldschool way.

Use the media creation tool to burn the ISO to the flash drive, and then find out what key gets you into the boot menu from there. EZ Flash is for BIOS updates, not OS installs, get out of there and find out how to get into the UEFI Boot Menu for your specific mainboard vendor/product gen.

That would be because thats BIOS update function, not OS install.

It sees your drive? You may need to format and/or create new partition for it. Formatting will erase everything on the drive, so make sure to backup first.
