So im upgrading from an asus mobo to msi, should i delete the asus software before installing the new motherboard? And should i download msi stuff before installing the board so i can install it when its in?

I did not uninstall any of my drivers when I swapped my motherboard.

 

It's probably not a bad idea to have all the drivers for the new motherboard already on a USB stick.

no you don't need to uninstall asus suite, ...but i would anyways.

you might want to download the driver for the ethernet if you don't have an optical drive...and every other drivers you might need you should download after that.

I'm kinda backing the rest of the guys here, what sort of answer is that.

I went from a Asus Maximus VII Hero/4790k to a MSI x99a Gaming 7/5820k system, the MSI board is awesome, and I've been a long time Asus/ROG fan.

OP, just make sure that before you upgrade, you grab yourself windows repair tool. Also, remember to untie your license from the Asus board, so oyu can use it in the MSI one.

And MSI motherboards are only a rip off if your in the 90's and it has cheap caps (which were a really big problem back then that Asus also had)..
