Seagate markets it's drives, while sneakily jabbing at Western Digital RED drives. This was given to subscribers of a Seagate newsletter.

Hahaha. That's the kind of marketing I like to see. Sounds like what Sony did against Microsoft recently with the consoles. Haha!

For the past few years, I've always bought WD, but I wanted some 4TB drives and WD's 4TB drives are extortionately expensive. So I bought Seagate Barracudas. They've definitely not been a problem yet! *touchwood*

im not hating on Seagate or anything but from what ive seen in the past, the company which will use aggressive marketing like this is usually the one selling an "inferior product" and trying to take a jab on the bigger company and stir up some dust and direct marketing towards them and hopefully sell more of their product

Some examples that just came into my mind:
LG when the Samsung S4 came out, i remember they did something with the 4 on some billboards
Sony with the whole DRM and Microsoft
    (Im sure there's more)

Not saying that one is better than the other but Samsung and Microsoft have a lot bigger profits than LG/Sony and they dont need to do this kind of marketing to try and boost their sales or attract attention

PS: By inferior i mean a product that wont sell as much

Hey there. You are looking mighty fine today, have my virtual cookie!

Agreed, just like back during Apple's "Think Different" campaign, and IBM came out with their "Just Think" jab at Apple, while IBM was selling shit with a fine crust of mildew on top.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Maybe they are selling an inferior product, or maybe they need publicity for their drives because everyone is bandwagoning on some other drive and not even considering other options, but those kind of people probably aren't subscribed to seagate newsletter
