SSD Suddenly "Not Detected"

soldierpwnage101

So I think I'm screwed, but hopefully someone here knows something I don't. This is basically what happened.

-Desktop running W8.1 been a little off lately. Freezing up momentarily and whatever. Thought I was running out of RAM
-Normally just put it to sleep instead of turning it off
-Woke itself up over night for whatever reason
-Go to use it this morning

-Freezes on loading screen after login
-Wait 5 minutes
-Decide to restart
-Won't start. Insert repair disk blah blah blah
-Suddenly SSD boot drive is nowhere to be found in BIOS
-Try other SATA slots
-Not detected in any of them even though other drives are

It's a corsair force series 3 120GB and I've had it for probably 2-3 years now.

Is it finished or is there something I can do? SSD Life didn't indicate anything was wrong last I checked a few months ago.

What are your full system specs?

But it really sounds like your SSD is going bad...somehow... It really shouldn't disappear from BIOS. Maybe double check the cables?

Well you can test other variables like the SATA power and data cables & changing the cable's slot on the PSU, but besides that I'm not sure what you can do.

Is everything else working? Like your HDD? for all we know it could (but doubtfully) be a motherboard problem.

Guess I'll test every variable possible, though the other things seem to be working as far as I know. They're being detected at least.

Previously it would appear in SATA3_0

Yeah, if it's not cabling, I'm not to sure on what else it could be. Maybe try the SSD in another PC? I think it's the SSD but not too sure yet. I don't think it's a motherboard issue though.

Well I tried it with some unused spare cables, and known working cables in a different machine and still nothing. So I'd say it's done.

Just looking for a replacement now. Cheers guys.

I have almost same problem with two Intel 520series 60GB (INTEL SSDSC2CW060A)

One of them is system drive soo my win8.1 keeps freezing.

There is two ways that i discovered to temporarily fix this problem:
1. Wrigling with SATA cable.

2. Leting PC to discarge by pushing power button when disconnected from power.
