Audio-Technica ATH-M40x or ATH-AD700X

I'm trying to decide between the Audio-Technica ATH-M40x or ATH-AD700X, however I can not decide on which so.  I have come to have the linustechtips community help me on this decision with a poll.  Please comment on why you chose which headphone.

 

Notice: I will be using this headphone for PC gaming and I play games such as BF4 and CS GO.

 

Also, will these headsets work with the Astro Mixamp?

700X because open back, more comfy (provided your head fits) and sound better overall.

700X, I have the 500x and they are amazing. I also got an Astro Mixamp. They work really well together but my 500x don't work with the virtual surround sound. It just makes it sound muddy and echo like... But The audio positioning is already so fantastic due to their high quality drivers and open-back design.

I have a new question, will the mod mic v 4.0 work with the ath-ad700x.

Open headphone means what you hear will be almost the same as people around you hear, and you don't have any sound isolation. Get the M40x's (I have them)
