Help Choosing an IPS Monitor

Pankaic
Go to solution Solved by Jynx,

I don't have prices in front of my right now so I apologize but personally I have loved every LG IPS monitor I've used.  I've owned several IPS monitors over the past 10 years and LG's have been my favorite.  I've never spent more than $400 on a monitor (I will be soon though).  So if you look around you can find a lot quality IPS monitors on the cheap that are being phased out simply to make room for the latest and greatest tech.

Hey everyone! I've decided to get myself an IPS monitor, for reasons including taking a photography course and overall better picture for general use and gaming. My budget is ~$150, and after looking around a bit, I've narrowed down my choices to either the ASUS V239H-P and the ViewSonic VX2363SMHL-W (while I would have preferred a 24-inch monitor, their average prices appear to be slightly too high for me). Between the two aforementioned monitors, do you guys have any suggestions/preferences? Is there another candidate I have yet to consider? Personally, I'm leaning toward the ViewSonic monitor, as it is advertised to have better response times, down-facing ports (terrible design decision, ASUS), and, less importantly, fits my setup's color scheme better, but maybe there are other features I haven't yet considered that would be a deal breaker. Thanks for any help offered!

Take a serious consideration into a Dell monitor.

They are amazing and I always recommend them.

While I would love to use a Dell monitor, even their 22-inch IPS monitor is an extra $25 over my budget.

Dell u2515h. Can't reccomend it enough. It punches well above its price point and is well worth saving up for.

Thanks for the advice, Jynx. I think I'm going to go with the LG 24MC57HQ-P. Found it on Newegg for only $130, which, for a 24-inch IPS monitor, is quite a steal compared to everything else I've seen. I also trust their reputation as a good electronic brand, so I'm not worried about getting a bad product by going with them.
