Help with viruses

Hi everyone! So i finished building my pc yesterday and went to install drivers and download some other stuff like cpu z and furmark. Apparently, I got a bunch of malware and viruses and everything became slow, I tried removing them but I had no idea what I was doing. So I there was an option in windows to remove everything and reinstall the os. I did that. Was that ok to do? It's so confusing. This is my first pc. Please help.

What version of Windows are you using? If you are using Windows 8 there is an option to do a system restore. If you are using any other version you just have to put in the ISO, format the C drive and reinstall Windows

I have no idea. I downloaded mobo drivers and gpu drivers. Then chrome, firefox, malwarebytes, and simple stuff like that. Cpuz, gpuz, realtemp. I downloaded prime 95. But everything started to slow down when I tried to download furmark? It was downloading random stuff that didn't look related to furmark at all. I tried to get furmark at www.ozone3d.net

Did you by any chance get the Windows ISO from "unlicensed dealers"?

Could it be just a bug? Usually viruses don't make themselves so obvious, they run in the background.

I bought the operating system from newegg.

Just needed to ask. Sometimes they fill the ISO's with spyware and other goodies.

 

Just to be clear; you don't have to worrie about the ISO

Download an anitvirus trial, run full scan and remove virus, then buy full version or delete the trial.

I recommend Kaspersky

Well, my pc is in the process of resetting still. Will this fix everything? Is there something else I should do after it finishes and installs the os?

Download windows updates first. There may be some bug that causes slowness in some systems. Also are you on ssd or hdd?
