basic disk to dynamic

when ever I try to extend my partition this message pops up, how to I extend my partition without making it dynamic? 

My Little Gaming Rig:

CPU: FX 8320 | MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-D3P | RAM: G.Skill Ares 2x4GB | GPU: Sapphire Dual-X R9 270X | Storage: Seagate SSHD 1TB | Case: Corsair 200R | PSU: CM 550W V-Series

Upgrades to come: CPU FAN: Corsair H100i | RAM: 2 more 4GB sticks | GPU: Another R9 270X running in crossfire | Storage: Samsung 120GB SSD | PSU: Corsair 800w

I've found a couple of interesting and useful articles that you might want to take a look at:
 
What OS are you using? Is it your boot drive/partition that you want to extend or another one? It would be useful if you post a screenshot from your Disk Management and show what you are trying to do. :)

no its pretty much an empty storage disk with the only thing on it being origin

If you are able to keep your games and safe files, I would recommend reformatting the drive and creating new, larger partition the way you need it. :) You can later restore or re-download your games.

post a picture of you disk management screen (win+r -> diskmgmt.msc). I suspect your issue is that you have 4 partitions already.

 

Basic disks can only have 3 primary partitions and 1 extended partitions or 4 primary partitions. I suspect you might have a system/boot partition or two that is causing this.
