4x 980 Ti Hybrid's or 4x AMD Fury X

Hello, So I'm a first time builder. But I know many people who know how to build if I have any problems. I'm deciding between two builds

here are the build specs. Also what's the Highest speed of Ram I can have on this setup please Help if there ANY ERRORS

 

THINGS THAT YOU CAN HELP WITH

- Max Amount of MHz I can have (BEST RAM I CAN HAVE?)

- The Quad Build for the AMD on Benchmarks has better results - is that true?

- WHY NOT HBM?

- WHERE DO I PUT THE RADS? I'm Getting a Corsair 900D But I can change the case

- Is the Max amount of Ram I can have 2133 Mhz?

If you want to game with it DONT do quad sli, thats not worth it. In most games the third and fourth gpu wont even be used. Just stick with 2. As for the speed of the ram, if you really want it to be the highest, G.Skill has released new ram for the skylake chipset which is clocked at 4000MHz

Intel CPU's don't scale well with fast ram, just get some 1866 CL9 or 1600 CL8 ram. Go for amount, not speed.

if you are spending at much money go for the 3000mhz ram.

 

and 3-4 sli won't work well. best to stick with 2 only.

Though Do you REALLY need 4 GPUs? I mean with the scalability issues at that price you'd go with the not so worth at the price but fully unlocked cores... Titan Xs

More than SLI is silly? There is no more than SLI. SLI refers to 2, 3, or 4 cards, not just two. 

Unless I am misunderstanding. Try to use words rather than symbols.

Crossfire is better than SLI at higher configurations as far as I know, never tested, but I would recommend to stay with 2 cards, either Fury or 980 Ti.

Yep, definitely. Even between 1600MHz DDR3 and 3000+MHz DDR4, there very little difference in most programs. Just benchmarks that show the difference. 

 

@Austin Borg make sure you follow your posts. 

 

As pretty much everyone has said, 4 way SLI or Crossfire is not a good solution. Most games will barely use the 3rd and 4th cards (if you're gaming on this)

But only as a specification, SLI is just the name for the technology, so when talking, specify two way from three way SLI and not two way as SLI. Too broad, which is why I got confused, as most did when I would only say SLI when talking about my older GPU setup.

I like this build, but why not get a 3rd GPU? and add a 4TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive??? ... Also why Superclocked and not Water cooled -.-
